Why?

Since I discovered the excistence of Fractals in the early 1990's, I have constantly been fascinated by them because of the fact that mathematics (functions, iterations and complex numbers) can be used to create wonderful art. My first experiments with fractal software were in the mid-90's and rendering took ages (our first desktop had only 1MB RAM!). I was bored with the wallpapers I found on the net so I started to create them for myself with the new found fractal software. It was my son who said I should create a website with them and make them available so others can use them as well.

Nomen est omen

Psittacism is speech or writing that appears mechanical or repetitive in the manner of a parrot. More generally it is a pejorative description of the use of words which appear to have been used without regard to their meaning.
The word is derived from the Latin term for parrots 'psittaci' – which in turn derives from the Greek ψιττακός – in an analogy with the ability of some parrots to speak human words but without any knowledge of their meaning (Source: Wikipedia).

In other words, I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't consider myself an artist, but simply someone who likes to explore parameters and has a good eye for aestethics.

The 68 is for fairly obvious reasons 😎.
